Can Tho police arrest individual for land certificate fraud

Police in Can Tho have arrested Thach P. for fraudulent appropriation of property. Between March and August 2026, the suspect allegedly deceived victims by claiming to work for a government agency and possessing connections to expedite land use certificate procedures.

According to investigators, the suspect used these false claims to solicit money and provided victims with forged land use certificates. The total amount misappropriated is reported to be 190,000,000 VND.

Local authorities have issued a warning to the public to remain vigilant against individuals claiming to have special influence with government officials. Citizens are advised to conduct all land-related transactions through official local authorities and to verify the authenticity of all legal documents.
