Can Tho police assist resident in recovering 500 million VND accidental transfer

A resident in Can Tho has successfully recovered nearly 500 million VND after accidentally transferring the funds to the wrong bank account. The incident occurred on April 23, 2026, when Ms. N. T. N. T. entered a single incorrect digit while attempting to transfer money to an acquaintance via a mobile banking application.

Following the error, Ms. T. reported the matter to the Hung Phu Ward Police on April 24. The police coordinated with ACB bank and local authorities to identify the recipient, identified as Mr. N. T. H., who resides in Ho Chi Minh City. After being contacted and informed of the situation by the police, Mr. H. visited an ACB branch in Ho Chi Minh City on May 4, 2026, to complete the procedures to return the full amount of 499,999,998 VND to the sender.
