Canadian woman deported after assault in New Jersey
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced that Canadian citizen Kaitlyn Tracey is being deported to Canada after being charged with assault in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Video footage showed Tracey striking a teenage girl wearing a "pro‑Trump" shirt on a boardwalk in early July 2024. She faced charges of simple assault, neglect of a child, and related offenses, and was transferred to ICE custody after her visa expired. A Texas immigration judge ordered her removal, and officials described the action as a routine enforcement of immigration law. The case attracted online attention, with the family claiming the incident was politicized and alleging threats and doxxing attempts.
