Canara HSBC Life Insurance reports 19% premium rise in Q1 FY27

Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company Limited posted strong financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). New Business Premium reached ₹1,044 crore, up 25.2% year‑on‑year, while Individual Weighted Premium Income grew 17.8% to ₹470 crore. Total APE rose 18.8% YoY to ₹585 crore and the Value of New Business (VNB) increased 28.8% to ₹124 crore. The insurer reported a profit after tax of ₹28 crore, a 20.2% YoY increase.

The company highlighted continued expansion of its distribution network, including a new partnership with West Bengal Gramin Bank, and a focus on protection business, which grew 41.5% YoY and now accounts for 13% of total premium mix. Persistency ratios remained healthy, with the 13‑month ratio at 85.9% and the 61‑month ratio at 55.3%.

Management attributed the performance to a diversified distribution model, disciplined product mix, and ongoing investment in growth engines.
