Canary Islands appliance renovation plan launches third voucher round
The Canary Islands Appliance Renovation Plan is launching a third round of vouchers on Monday, October 19, through its dedicated management platform. The initiative aims to encourage households to replace old appliances with more energy-efficient models to reduce costs and environmental impact.
As of October 15, the program has facilitated the exchange of 4,547 vouchers, totaling 803,790 euros from a total budget of 1.6 million euros. The program is managed by Femete and Femepa and currently includes 217 participating establishments across the islands. Technical estimates suggest that the replacement of these appliances will result in an annual energy saving of approximately 476.2 MWh and a reduction of 262 tons of CO2 emissions.
Juan Antonio Jiménez Arranz, president of Femete, noted that the plan is successfully converting aid into real savings for households. Users are reminded that vouchers must be used within 15 calendar days of issuance and must be presented before making a purchase at an affiliated retailer.
