Canary Islands launches 800,000 euro appliance subsidy program

The Government of the Canary Islands has launched the second phase of its Appliance Renewal Plan (Plan Renove de Electrodomésticos), activating over 800,000 euros in new vouchers. This phase incorporates remaining funds from the first round to meet high citizen demand, which saw more than 24,000 registrations previously.

Subsidies are designed to encourage the replacement of old appliances with more energy-efficient models to reduce household energy consumption and environmental impact. General discounts can reach 250 euros, while vulnerable consumers may receive up to 450 euros depending on the appliance and its energy classification.

To participate, residents must apply for a voucher through the official online platform before making a purchase. Once a voucher is generated, it must be redeemed at an affiliated business within 15 calendar days. To complete the process, users must demonstrate the proper disposal of the old appliance as electrical and electronic waste.
