Cancún authorities arrest two suspects in dentist murder

Authorities in Quintana Roo have arrested two men in connection with the murder of 55-year-old dentist Jesús “N” in Cancún. The homicide occurred on September 15 in the parking lot of Plaza Galerías on Tulum Avenue.

The detainees include 30-year-old Yael, known as “El Pelón,” identified as the alleged perpetrator, and 25-year-old Jordan, a foreign national accused of performing surveillance, or “halconeo.” According to the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), the investigation suggests a passion-based motive and indicates other individuals may be involved.

Investigators reconstructed the crime, stating the suspects met in an apartment in Region 98 to plan the attack. To confirm the victim's presence, Yael allegedly entered the dental clinic posing as a patient and paid 1,100 pesos for a cleaning. He then purchased raincoats and hats to conceal his identity. The attack took place as the victim approached his vehicle; the suspect reportedly shot him seven times with a 9mm caliber weapon.
