Facundo Moyano faces investigation for alleged unlawful deprivation of liberty

An investigation is underway in Buenos Aires regarding an incident involving former deputy Facundo Moyano and his partner, influencer Candela Arizaga. Moyano faces charges of alleged injury and unlawful deprivation of liberty following an event on August 4 where Arizaga was found in a state of psychomotor agitation.

Reports from the Public Prosecutor's Office's Home Intervention Team (EDID) indicate that Arizaga admitted to consuming alcohol and psychoactive substances with Moyano during the incident. While Arizaga has publicly denied experiencing gender-based violence and requested the lifting of restraining orders, investigators noted significant power asymmetries in the relationship due to age gaps and Moyano's political and union status.

The judicial process has summoned 14 witnesses, including security personnel from the ViewPoint building, police officers, medical staff from Hospital Pirovano, and family members. Recent developments include the leak of an audio recording from a building porter requesting an ambulance for a suspected heart attack, which has added new questions to the case.
