Former deputy and union leader Facundo Moyano was detained after a 4 August incident in the Belgrano neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, when his then‑girlfriend, influencer Candela Arizaga, was found semi‑nude and disoriented. Investigators seized two mobile phones, a USB drive, an Apple Watch, a syringe and other items, but found no drugs in the apartment. Moyano was released on bail and remains indicted. Arizaga’s lawyer reiterated her denial of any assault and linked the incident to drug use. Former partners Nicole Neumann and Eva Bargiela have publicly distanced themselves from Moyano, while Moyano has said publicly that “everything is clarified.” The inquiry continues under fiscal Julián Pistone.

On 5 August Arizaga testified before the specialised gender‑violence unit, again stating that no violence occurred and describing the episode as a cocaine‑induced psychotic break. She asked that the 300‑metre no‑approach order and contact ban be lifted, but the court kept the measures in place. Moyano’s lawyer Miguel Molina confirmed that the charges of light injuries and illegal deprivation of liberty remain, and noted that forensic and digital evidence are still being examined.

Moyano’s counsel Diego Storto said Arizaga was in shock and that a fuller testimony is still pending, underscoring that the case remains open and under ongoing investigation.
