Cantabria and Asturias Announce €475,000 in Grants for Retail Promotion and Circular Economy

The Cantabrian government has opened a €250,000 competition to fund local authorities for activities that boost retail trade, such as consumer voucher campaigns, themed‑decor contests, lotteries and advertising. The subsidies, available from July 30, 2025 to December 31, 2026, will be awarded competitively, with half the total amount split equally among all qualifying municipalities and the other half allocated based on the number and duration of the proposed initiatives.

In Asturias, the regional ministry of Mobility, Environment and Emergency Management is offering €225,000 in aid to small and medium‑sized enterprises for projects that advance a circular‑economy transition. Applications are accepted until July 20 and may fund studies that improve resource efficiency, cut waste generation, redesign products, valorise residues, or develop recycling and landfill‑mining processes.

Both programmes aim to strengthen local economies by supporting retailers in Cantabria and promoting sustainable production practices among SMEs in Asturias.
