Cantabria and La Palma announce new subsidy programs
The Government of Cantabria has launched a competitive grant program totaling 164,434.52 euros to support movie theaters within the autonomous community. The funds are intended to cover operating and management costs for the year 2026 to help foster local audiences. Of the total budget, 44,434.52 euros are reserved for local entities, while up to 120,000 euros are allocated for private companies. Private grants are capped at 20,000 euros for small venues with up to two screens and 25,000 euros for complexes with three or more screens.
In La Palma, the Cabildo has opened two subsidy lines with a combined initial budget of 23,000 euros for residential renewable energy and electric vehicle infrastructure. The program targets individuals who installed electric vehicle chargers or small wind turbines in their homes between January 1, 2025, and October 26, 2026. The electric vehicle charger initiative has an initial budget of 14,000 euros, allowing beneficiaries to recover up to 50 percent of installation costs, with a maximum of 250 euros per person. The local government aims to promote energy autonomy and the use of renewable resources on the island.
