DTCC and Canton Strategic launch tokenization services on Canton Network

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has launched a tokenization service on the Canton Network, marking a significant step toward integrating stocks, bonds, and funds into blockchain infrastructure. The service, which went live on October 28, 2026, initially supports 34 eligible securities with a combined market value of approximately $30 trillion, including select large-cap stocks from the Russell 1000 index, ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries. Twenty firms, including JPMorgan, Citi, and Morgan Stanley, are reportedly participating in the rollout.

Separately, Nasdaq-listed Canton Strategic Holdings (CNTN) announced plans to tokenize its common shares on the Canton Network, with trading expected to begin as early as November 2. The company has partnered with TSV LLC and Fairmint to facilitate the process. The tokenized shares are designed to carry the same rights as the company’s Nasdaq-listed stock. This move utilizes the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s innovation exemption framework, which provides a regulatory path for trading tokenized U.S. equities on domestic platforms.
