Cantor Fitzgerald partners with Securitize to launch blockchain-based IPO platform
Cantor Fitzgerald has entered a partnership with token‑issuance platform Securitize to develop services for blockchain‑based initial public offerings and tokenized securities. The collaboration will combine Cantor’s equity capital‑markets expertise with Securitize’s digital‑asset infrastructure, allowing companies to issue shares as on‑chain tokens while remaining within existing securities regulations.
The joint effort aims to streamline the IPO process by reducing settlement times, cutting operational costs and improving transparency. Tokenized securities will be created at the primary issuance stage, not added later in secondary markets, and will be fully compliant with current regulatory frameworks. The move reflects a broader trend of major financial institutions, including DTCC, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock and Vanguard, exploring tokenization of equities.
If successful, the partnership could expand fundraising options for issuers, especially those in digital‑asset or technology sectors, by offering a blockchain‑enabled alternative alongside traditional public offerings.
