Cao Bằng police issue traffic fines for signal violations and speeding under Decree 168
The Cao Bằng provincial police announced that camera surveillance from 21 May to 27 May identified 15 traffic offences. The violations involved motorists ignoring traffic‑light signals and drivers exceeding speed limits. A notice was posted directing the offenders to the provincial traffic police office in Thục Phán ward to settle the penalties within 20 days.
Under Decree 168/2024/ND‑CP, which takes effect on 1 January 2025, fines range from VND 4 million to VND 20 million and include driver‑license point deductions, varying by the nature of the offence (signal breach, speeding bands, or accidents caused). Unresolved cases will be reported to the electronic information system of the traffic police and forwarded to the vehicle registration authority for further action.
