Cuautlancingo launches $7.6 million upgrade of Uranga Sports Complex

Mayor Omar Muñoz of Cuautlancingo, Puebla, inaugurated the first phase of a $7.6 million modernization of the Unidad Deportiva Uranga. The project will add two five‑a‑side football fields, a jogging track, renovated multi‑use courts, new restrooms, a security booth, parking and solar lighting. The upgraded facilities are intended to serve more than 36,000 residents, providing safer, modern spaces for sport, recreation and family gatherings.

Muñoz emphasized that the work is part of his administration’s effort to recover neglected public parks and sports venues, noting that the complex had only received partial interventions for years. He highlighted responsible budgeting and transparent use of public funds, promising further improvements to other municipal infrastructure.

The first‑stage construction is expected to be completed within the year, after which the municipality will continue with additional projects to enhance local quality of life.
