Capcom announces Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion
Capcom is set to release the Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion on October 9, featuring a massive new snowy region called Norgan. The expansion introduces several gameplay overhauls designed to address player feedback from the original 2024 launch.
Key additions include a return to a six-skill system per vocation, providing greater flexibility for classes like the Warrior and Warfarer. Players can also engage in a new loot-grinding loop via the Relic Appraisal system, where items found in the world can be appraised for randomized gear with unique stats. The expansion also introduces new enemies, such as the Berkan tribesmen and the Norgan Giant, alongside environmental hazards like blizzards and unstable ice floes.
Notably, the expansion will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and a new version for the Nintendo Switch 2. Early hands-on previews of the Switch 2 build indicate stable performance at approximately 30 FPS in handheld mode, though some upscaling blurriness was noted at 900p resolution.
