Capcom reaffirmed that the "Dark Arisen" expansion for *Dragon’s Dogma 2* will launch on 9 October 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 (the Switch 2 version bundles the base game). The add‑on introduces the frozen northern region Norgan, a new main storyline of roughly 15–20 hours, and twelve standalone challenge dungeons, delivering over 25 hours of additional content.

Development spanned about two years, building on six months of post‑launch updates and community feedback from the 2024 base‑game release. Quality‑of‑life upgrades include six weapon‑skill slots, an extra permanent teleport item, expanded save‑slot capacity and a planned hard‑mode option for veteran players. Director Kento Kinoshita confirmed that the expansion will not employ enemy level‑scaling and that a hard‑mode toggle is still under evaluation, with no final decision announced.

A new transmog system will let players alter gear appearance without losing statistics, tied to exploration of Norgan. Performance work on the RE Engine targets at least 30 fps on Switch 2, and a free performance‑and‑stability patch is slated for late August.

Pricing remains €29.99 standalone or €49.99 bundled, with pre‑order bonuses and a demo planned for Gamescom 2026.
