Capcom Announces Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Expansion for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox and PC
Capcom revealed that the long‑awaited Dark Arisen expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2 will launch on 9 October 2026. The add‑on introduces the icy northern region of Norgan, new story elements centered on the enigmatic Eir, twelve Lost Rites dungeon challenges, and expanded weapon, skill and character‑customisation options such as hairstyles and tattoos. The expansion will be sold as a standalone DLC for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (priced at US $29.99) and as a bundled package with the base game for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 console.
Two free title updates precede the expansion. Update 3.1, released 10 June 2026, adds a reusable Eternal Ferrystone for fast travel and a free‑camera mode for photo‑mode, alongside various quality‑of‑life tweaks. Update 3.2, slated for late August, will bring performance improvements, higher frame rates, additional save slots and further refinements. The announcements were made during a Nintendo Direct presentation, marking the first confirmed third‑party software for the unannounced Switch 2 platform.
The expansion follows a mixed reception to the base game, which sold millions of copies and prompted Capcom to incorporate extensive player feedback into the new content.
