Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion and update details

Capcom is releasing the Dark Arisen expansion for Dragon's Dogma 2 on October 9, 2026. The expansion introduces a new frozen region called Norgan, characterized by high verticality and harsh weather conditions like blizzards. Key features include the 'Lost Rites'—twelve high-difficulty dungeons—and a new 'Spoils' mechanic for obtaining endgame equipment.

Alongside the expansion, Title Update 4.0 will launch, introducing a Hard Mode, a New Game Plus feature, and a new Pawn specialization called 'Orienteer'. Technical improvements include enhanced PSSR upscaling for PS5 Pro and updated DLSS/FSR support for PC. The game is also slated for release on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Critical reception for the expansion has been largely positive, with reviewers praising the immersive atmosphere and the scale of the new content, which can provide 20 to 50 hours of gameplay. However, some critics noted repetitive end-game activities and certain combat mechanics that felt tedious.
