Capcom announces Mega Man: Dual Override for 2027

Capcom is preparing to release Mega Man: Dual Override, the twelfth installment in the classic action game series, slated for 2027 on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The game features the return of the Blue Bomber alongside Proto Man as they attempt to restore peace following a robot uprising at a robot exhibition.

New gameplay mechanics include the ‘Override’ system, which allows Mega Man to exceed his battery capacity for powerful special attacks at the cost of a brief cooldown period. Players can also utilize a ‘Custom Chip’ system to modify and enhance abilities for specific stages.

Recent leaks have provided a detailed list of upcoming Robot Masters, including Twinkle Girl, Jet Man, Boat Man, Tank Man, Sand Woman, Cook Man, Cleanser Man, and the Build Men, as well as encounters with Bass and Dr. Wily. The game aims to balance traditional mechanics, such as jumping and charging special attacks, with modernized controls and accessibility options.
