Capcom details graphics modes for upcoming Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo on PS5 and Xbox
Capcom announced that the action‑RPG Onimusha: Way of the Sword will launch on 25 September 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the forthcoming Switch 2. A pre‑release demo is already available on PlayStation Store and Xbox platforms, offering players a preview of the combat system and a free in‑game item, the “Kubi Akari” charm.
The publisher provided technical specifications for the console versions. Both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X aim for a native 4K resolution (3840 × 2160) in a “Quality‑first” mode with frame rates of 30‑40 fps, while a “Performance‑first” mode targets 60 fps using dynamic upscaling. On Xbox Series S, the performance mode runs at 1920 × 1080 upscaled to 60 fps, and the quality mode delivers 1080p at 30‑50 fps. The demo runs well on all tested hardware, with the PlayStation 5 Pro showing added ray‑tracing and PSSR‑upscaling improvements.
While the Switch 2 demo has not been released, the announced specifications suggest similar upscaling approaches for both TV and handheld modes. Overall, early technical checks indicate a solid visual experience across current‑generation consoles.
