Capcom explains easy difficulty in Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo

Capcom showed a closed‑door demo of the upcoming action‑adventure *Onimusha: Way of the Sword* at Summer Game Fest. Many players noted that the combat felt unusually easy, with enemies falling quickly and helpful visual cues present.

Capcom responded that the demo included extra assistance not intended for the final release, such as boosted player abilities and on‑screen guidance. The studio said the full game, scheduled for release on September 25, will feature slower character progression, stronger foes, and only two difficulty modes—Story and Action—so the challenge will increase as players advance.

The demo also highlighted the game's combat system, including health and stagger gauges, parries, and special moves powered by collected enemy souls, providing a preview of the mechanics that will carry over into the final version.
