Capcom launches Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion, ends DLC microtransactions

Capcom announced that the Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion will launch on October 9 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, which will bundle both the base game and the expansion. The DLC adds a new snowy region called the Forsaken Dominion with twelve large dungeons, new enemies, loot, and expanded character‑customisation options such as hairstyles and tattoos. No exclusive Switch 2 features have been confirmed yet.

Alongside the expansion, Capcom is removing the Deluxe Edition and most microtransaction items that have drawn criticism since the game’s release. Over half of the 21 in‑store microtransaction items, including Rift Crystals and special gear, are being delisted. Players will now obtain many formerly paid items, like the Art of Metamorphosis character editor, directly from vendors at lower cost. The base game is receiving a price discount, while a few items such as the Explorer’s Camping Kit and the Music & Sound Collection remain available for purchase.
