Capcom advances Onimusha: Way of the Sword launch to Sept 4, 2026

Capcom has moved the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword from its original September 25 date to September 4, 2026. The new launch applies to all announced platforms – PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The shift creates a three‑week gap before the crowded September slate and avoids direct competition with titles such as Control Resonant, Silent Hill : Townfall and Marvel’s Wolverine, as well as the high‑profile release of GTA 6 slated for November 2026. A demo of the game is already available for download on the major digital storefronts. The game follows Miyamoto Musashi wielding the Oni Gauntlet through a supernatural war set in an Edo‑era Kyoto, emphasizing close‑range sword combat, modern graphics and new supernatural abilities. Capcom’s timing aims to give the title more promotional breathing room and improve its market visibility.
