Capcom reveals details for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion

Capcom has revealed new details regarding ‘Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance’, a major expansion for the Monster Hunter series scheduled for release in 2027. The expansion will feature a new map called the ‘Cloud Dwelling Ruins’, Master Rank content, and the return of Elder Dragons, including the creature Khezu.

A central addition to the gameplay is the ‘Boost Bracer’ system. This mechanic allows players to enter a ‘Boost’ state to perform new weapon actions and faster follow-up attacks, significantly increasing the combat tempo. Additionally, players will be able to switch between a second weapon more quickly without needing to mount their riding beast.

New monsters, such as the ‘Spurt Bird’, have been showcased. These creatures are designed to interact in groups, requiring players to manage chaotic battlefield conditions. The expansion is slated for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
