Capcom reveals Mega Man: Dual Override gameplay at Gamescom

Capcom has unveiled the first extended gameplay trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event. The title marks the twelfth mainline entry in the classic action-platformer series, following an eight-year hiatus since Mega Man 11.

Key gameplay reveals include the return of Proto Man as a fully playable character with a unique combat style. The game introduces the ‘Override’ system, which allows characters to temporarily unleash superior power at the cost of a subsequent performance penalty. Additionally, a ‘Custom Chip’ system will allow players to equip various upgrades, such as rapid-fire, protective shields, or hovering capabilities.

The trailer also introduced Twinkle Girl, one of eight new Robot Masters, and teased the potential return of classic characters like Astro Man. Mega Man: Dual Override is scheduled for release in 2027 on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
