Capcom reveals Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance details at TGS 2026

Capcom has unveiled new gameplay details and content for the upcoming expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, during the Tokyo Game Show 2026. The expansion, scheduled for release in 2027, is described by developers as a “legitimate evolution” of the base game.

Key new features include the “Boost Bracer,” a tool that allows hunters to activate “Boost Actions” to enhance weapon abilities for a limited time. This system is designed to allow players to proactively create opportunities during hunts. The expansion will also introduce a “Master Rank,” offering more challenging quests for experienced players, and a new high-altitude environment called the Skybound Eyrie.

Several monsters were showcased, including the new creature Araketa and the return of classic monsters such as Teostra and the pale, cave-dwelling Khezu. Other returning creatures mentioned include Kushala Daora, Lao-Shan Lung, and Fulgur. The expansion will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
