Capcom reveals Onimusha: Way of the Sword gameplay for Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom has released the first gameplay footage for Onimusha: Way of the Sword on the Nintendo Switch 2. The footage demonstrates the game running in both docked and handheld modes, with performance targeting 30 FPS and an option for a variable frame rate between 30 and 40 FPS. The game also features optional mouse controls.

Set in historical Kyoto, the dark fantasy narrative follows Miyamoto Musashi, a young samurai wielding the mystical Oni Gauntlet to combat demonic Genma creatures. Notably, the protagonist's character model is based on the face of Japanese cinema legend Toshiro Mifune.

The game's release date has reportedly been moved forward from September 25, 2026, to September 4, 2026.
