Capcom Sets Onimusha: Way of the Sword for September 25, Skipping Onimusha 3 Remaster

Leaked information circulating online suggests that Capcom plans to release the new entry in its Onimusha action‑adventure series, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, on September 25 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The rumor, first posted by leaker @intercelluar and partially confirmed by insider NateDrake, positions the launch to avoid competing with the anticipated November 19 release of Grand Theft Auto VI. The date may be announced during the Summer Game Fest State of Play scheduled for early June.

Ahead of the new title, Capcom confirmed an August port of Onumisaha: Dawn of Dreams to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. However, the company has not remastered Onimisaha 3: Demon Siege, a 2004 PS2 entry featuring actor Jean Reno. Licensing complications involving Reno’s likeness are believed to be the reason the game remains locked to its original hardware, leaving fans to rely on original PS2 copies to experience it before the September launch of Way of the Sword.
