Capcom sets September 2026 release for Onimusha: Way of the Sword and launches demo

Capcom announced that the new action‑RPG Onimusha: Way of the Sword will launch on 25 September 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Alongside the release date, a free 30‑minute playable demo was made available that drops players into the Kiyomizu‑dera temple in Kyoto, where they face the series‑iconic rival Sasaki Ganryu. The demo showcases the revamped combat system—including parries, perfect dodges and the classic Issen counter‑move—and introduces the Oni Glove artifact that lets Miyamoto Musashi absorb enemy souls for special abilities.

Four pricing tiers were revealed: Standard Edition at €79.99, Deluxe Edition at €89.99, Premium Deluxe Edition at €99.99, each adding cosmetic skins, extra talismans and a digital soundtrack. Onimusha: Way of the Sword revives the franchise after a 20‑year hiatus, using Capcom’s RE Engine and aiming to blend the series’ traditional linear action with modern, timing‑focused gameplay.
