Capcom sets September 2026 release for Onimusha: Way of the Sword on Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation that the new installment Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 on 25 September 2026. The game, the first mainline entry in the Onimusha series since 2006, follows the samurai Miyamoto Musashi as he battles demons. Pre‑orders are already available through the Switch 2 eShop, with a listed price of $107.95.

The launch is part of Capcom’s broader rollout of titles for the Switch 2, joining recent releases such as Resident Evil entries, Street Fighter 6, Pragmata, Monster Hunter Wilds and Dragon’s Dogma 2 ports. No technical specifications regarding resolution or performance were disclosed, but the presented trailer showed the game running smoothly on the new handheld console.
