Capcom to Add Hard Mode and Transmog in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Expansion

Capcom announced that the Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion will launch on October 9, 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. The add‑on adds a new storyline, relic hunting in the new region of Norgan, twelve new Challenge Dungeons and an estimated 25 + hours of additional gameplay.

Director Kento Kinoshita confirmed that Dark Arisen will not use enemy level‑scaling, stating, “While some people like the system where enemies get stronger according to the player’s level, others dislike it, so we haven’t adopted it.” The team is still evaluating a Hard Mode for experienced players that could be played in both the main story and the new areas, but no decision has been made.

A confirmed new feature is a transmog system that lets players change the appearance of gear without losing its stats, tied to exploration of Norgan. Capcom also said a major performance‑improvement patch will be released in late August ahead of the expansion.
