Capcom eyes Hard Mode, adds transmog in Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Capcom is developing the Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion, slated for release on October 9 2024 across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The team is considering a Hard Mode for experienced players, though no final decision has been announced. Director Kento Kinoshita confirmed the expansion will not use enemy level‑scaling, stating, “While some people like the system where enemies get stronger according to the player’s level, others dislike it, so we haven’t adopted it.” Producer Naoto Oyama said fan requests for a Hard Mode are being evaluated and that the feature could appear in both the main story and new areas. Dark Arisen will introduce a new region, Norgan, 12 Challenge Dungeons, relic hunting, and a transmog system that lets players alter the visual appearance of gear without losing its stats. Capcom estimates the additional content will provide over 25 hours of gameplay, and a major performance patch is planned for late August.
