Capo Rizzuto Marine Protected Area hosts marine inclusion project
The Capo Rizzuto Marine Protected Area in Le Castella hosted a stage of the national project ‘Un mare di inclusione. Ogni goccia conta’ (A sea of inclusion. Every drop counts). The initiative, promoted by Ambiente Mare Italia (AMI) and supported by the Italian Ministry for Disabilities, aimed to enhance accessibility to marine biodiversity.
Approximately 50 participants, including 25 individuals with disabilities, engaged in a sensory and technological exploration of the marine environment. Using digital boards, multimedia tools, and VR headsets at the Pelagos Sea Museum, participants were able to virtually explore underwater landscapes and marine life that might otherwise be inaccessible.
The event was organized through a collaboration between AMI, the Province of Crotone, and the Shalom Social Cooperative, utilizing technology to bridge the gap between nature and sensory accessibility.
