Capua begins cleanup of illegal Volturno River landfill

Cleanup operations have commenced to remediate an illegal landfill located on the banks of the Volturno River in via Pomerio, Capua. The project, which addresses a site that has existed for decades, is being carried out by the extraordinary commissioner responsible for bringing illegal landfills in line with current national regulations.

Mayor Adolfo Villani stated that this is the third of six planned interventions within the Capua municipality. The initiative follows previous efforts, including the dismantling of the Frascale ecoball site by the Campania Region. Villani noted that combating illegal waste abandonment remains a complex challenge due to the municipality's 50-square-kilometer territory.
