Capua riverbank land seized following illegal dumping

The Caserta Provincial Police have seized approximately 12,000 square meters of land in the Ballerina district of Capua due to illegal interventions on the Volturno riverbank. Two individuals have been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office following the operation.

Investigations revealed unauthorized modifications to the riverbank and the dumping of significant amounts of soil and waste materials without necessary permits. Authorities discovered evidence of an active construction site involving mechanical machinery. While the landowner presented a document intended to authorize works, investigators determined the permit applied to a different area.

The illegal filling activities were reportedly used to progressively expand private property toward the Volturno river, altering the landscape and the riverbank. Because the site is a protected area and a primary waterway, officials noted potential risks to the hydraulic safety of the territory. During the operation, police also seized a truck caught in the act of preparing to discharge a load of soil.
