Carabineros arrest suspects in robbery‑related vehicle thefts across Chile
In Temuco, the police investigative unit (SIP) of the Octava Comisaría detained five youths aged 15 to 18 who were driving a stolen Mercedes Benz. The luxury car had been taken during a violent robbery in which the owner was struck on the head with a firearm grip and forced to flee. The adolescents were found with a high‑calibre revolver and were placed before a guarantee court on charges of vehicle reception and illegal firearm possession.
In the Santiago‑area district of Conchalí, Carabineros of the 5ª Comisaría carried out a controlled follow‑up after two adults, aged 32 and 21, attempted to rob a delivery truck. The suspects were caught while moving commercial goods of unknown origin from a van to a vehicle with its license plates obscured. One individual discarded a toy gun that resembled a real weapon. Both were charged with the crime of reception of stolen goods and handed over to the Public Ministry.
