Carabinieri General Salvatore Luongo visits Comunità Incontro in Amelia

General Salvatore Luongo, Commander General of the Carabinieri, visited the Comunità Incontro in Amelia, Italy. The visit took place during a training session for 200 Carabinieri trainees from the 145th Course.

Since 2023, the Carabinieri have collaborated with the therapeutic structure to provide trainees with firsthand accounts from individuals undergoing recovery from addiction. Over 2,500 trainees have visited the Molino Silla facility as part of their professional development. During the visit, General Luongo emphasized the importance of social reassurance and listening to citizens, noting that the uniform should represent support even in difficult circumstances such as addiction.

The event was attended by various civil and military authorities, including Senator Maurizio Gasparri and several high-ranking Carabinieri officers. The program included discussions on addiction and a visit to the Torre della Memoria to honor victims of organized crime and reinforce the values of legality.
