Metronotte police thwart multiple vehicle and home thefts in Corato and Ruvo, Italy
On the night of 5 July 2026, the Metronotte patrols in the province of Bari intervened in four separate theft attempts in the towns of Corato, Ruvo di Puglia and along the Terlizzi‑Molfetta road. In Corato, officers spotted masked suspects trying to tamper with a Renault Captur and forced them to flee in an Audi RS3. A similar incident in Ruvo saw a Mercedes AMG A45G under surveillance; the suspect abandoned the car and escaped in an Audi A3. The patrols also disrupted two house‑breaking attempts, forcing the burglars to retreat after forcing doors and windows. All incidents were swiftly contained, with local Carabinieri arriving on scene to investigate.
The coordinated response highlights the heightened vigilance of Metronotte units, which aim to deter further burglaries and vehicle thefts in the region.
