Carabobo Deploys 1,500 Tonnes of Asphalt to Reopen Puerto Cabello Roads

The Carabobo state government in Venezuela is laying down 1,500 tonnes of asphalt on the highway linking the port of Puerto Cabello with the nearby towns of La Sorpresa and El Palito. The work aims to restore smooth heavy‑vehicle traffic that was disrupted by the strong earthquake that struck the region at the end of June.

The road‑repair effort is part of a broader reconstruction plan that also includes building homes for displaced families, strengthening health services and addressing the ongoing electricity crisis. Regional officials said a detailed explanation of the energy situation will be provided in the coming days.
