Venezuelan authorities deploy resources for flood response and infrastructure repairs

In Venezuela, multiple government entities have mobilised resources to address flood risks and infrastructure damage. The Monagas state security and risk‑management contingent deployed more than 900 officials to monitor 29 tropical waves and prevent emergencies, reporting no serious damage so far. In the Libertador municipality, council members inspected the Cuesta del Chama area to assess urban‑agricultural development and gather data for territorial planning.

A housing assessment in La Guaira found that 53 % of the 6,907 inspected homes show structural damage, with 1,885 classified as high‑risk and over 21,000 residents needing relocation. Reconstruction efforts have begun under the national Plan Venezuela Renace.

Meanwhile, Caracas’ Public Services, Infrastructure and Road Cabinet carried out emergency and road‑maintenance operations across ten parishes, including hot‑asphalt resurfacing of major avenues, drainage clean‑ups, and controlled demolitions of vulnerable structures. These coordinated actions aim to improve public safety and restore essential services amid ongoing heavy‑rain seasons.
