São Paulo forensic report rules out suicide in death of PM soldier

A forensic report from the São Paulo Institute of Criminalistics has ruled out suicide in the death of Military Police soldier Gisele Alves Santana. The complementary report states that bloodstain patterns and other physical evidence at the scene are incompatible with self-inflicted harm and indicate the involvement of a second person.

Gisele was found with a gunshot wound to the head in February at the apartment she shared with her partner, Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto. At the time, the Lieutenant Colonel reported the incident as a suicide. However, the investigation was later reclassified as a suspicious death, and the Lieutenant Colonel is currently a defendant in a femicide case.

The victim's family has consistently contested the initial suicide theory. Legal representatives noted that the forensic findings align with their long-standing belief that the death was a homicide. The defendant remains in custody at the Romão Gomes Military Prison.
