LVBP announces 2026-2027 season schedule and inaugural matchups

The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) has officially released the schedule for the 2026-2027 season. The campaign is set to begin on October 12 with an inaugural matchup between Tiburones de La Guaira and the defending champions, Navegantes del Magallanes, at the José Bernardo Pérez stadium.

The opening week features a full slate of games through October 18, including matchups involving Leones del Caracas, Águilas del Zulia, Tigres de Aragua, Caribes de Anzoátegui, Bravos de Margarita, and Cardenales de Lara.

In preparation for the local season, Cardenales de Lara will participate in the Clásico Caribeño, a series of exhibition games against Mexico’s Charros de Jalisco. These games will take place in Texas, with the first scheduled for October 9 in Dallas and the second on October 11 in Sugar Land. The Cardenales roster will include their full lineup of imported players to serve as a high-level rehearsal for the upcoming LVBP season.

Additionally, Tiburones de La Guaira has announced efforts to strengthen its roster by securing Major League Baseball (MLB) player permissions and recruiting from independent leagues to ensure depth during the critical December period.
