The Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional (LVBP) has finalized details for its 2026-27 season, which is scheduled to begin on October 12. The opening matchup will feature Tiburones de La Guaira against the defending champions, Navegantes del Magallanes, at the Estadio José Bernardo Pérez in Valencia.

This upcoming season will honor the 2026 World Baseball Classic champions and pay tribute to the victims of the seismic events that occurred on June 24. The regular season is slated to run until December 27, followed by a wildcard game on December 28 and the start of the Round Robin on January 2, 2027. Internationally, the LVBP champion will represent Venezuela in the 2027 Caribbean Series in Mexico, while the runner-up will compete in the Americas Series in Caracas.

Regulatory updates include an increased foreign player quota, allowing teams to roster up to eight imported players. Additionally, an independent disciplinary tribunal will be established to oversee the league’s anti-doping program. To strengthen integrity, the league has also partnered with an international firm to implement technological monitoring designed to prevent match-fixing and illegal betting.

To prepare for the campaign, Cardenales de Lara will participate in the Clásico Caribeño exhibition series against Mexico’s Charros de Jalisco in Texas on October 9 and 11.
