Caribbean police seize firearms and cannabis in Saint Lucia and Jamaica

In Saint Lucia, a joint operation by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force and specialised units seized a firearm magazine, suspected cannabis and cannabis seedlings in Gros Islet. Three men – Linus Clovis, Ronald Charles and Joshua Thomas – were arrested and charged with possession of a firearm component and controlled drugs, with bail conditions and court adjournments set for September 9.

In Jamaica's St Mary parish, a combined Jamaica Constabulary Force and Jamaica Defence Force raid resulted in the seizure of a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver, ammunition and a Glock magazine. A 34‑year‑old male teacher was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised ammunition. A 45‑year‑old woman was also charged with assaulting a police constable, while ten other individuals were detained and later released.
