Daniel Santos campaign under investigation for illegal fuel distribution

Police in Ananindeua, Pará, conducted an operation at a gas station to investigate a suspected illegal fuel distribution scheme intended for a political rally supporting Daniel Santos, a candidate for Governor of Pará. Authorities reported finding long queues of vehicles, including motorcycles and vans, receiving free fuel.

During the raid, officers seized a computer, mobile phones, and documents, including a spreadsheet titled ‘Controle de veículos – Carreata – Ananindeua’ which listed authorized vehicles, owners, and license plates. Four individuals, including the station manager and attendants, were taken to the Cidade Nova police station to provide statements. Investigators are working to determine the source of the funds used for the fuel.

Following the police action, Daniel Santos reportedly arrived at a police station in a visibly agitated state, using derogatory language toward the investigating delegate and a police commander. The Sindicato dos Delegados de Polícia do Pará issued a statement vehemently repudiating his comments, asserting that the officers were performing their legal duties and demanding respect for public servants and state institutions.
