Daniel Santos political and administrative scrutiny

Daniel Santos, a candidate for the governorship of Pará representing the Podemos party, has faced increasing scrutiny regarding his political and administrative history in Ananindeua.

Initial concerns focused on his previous administration’s management of public health. Local protests occurred as families demanded better services at the Psychosocial Attention Center for Children and Adolescents (CAPSi). Furthermore, a federal ordinance disqualified Ananindeua from receiving funds for a new psychosocial center under the Novo PAC Saúde program due to a failure to meet requirements during the preparatory stage linked to his leadership.

More recently, the campaign has come under investigation for a suspected illegal fuel distribution scheme. Police conducted a raid at a gas station where vehicles were reportedly receiving free fuel for a political rally. Authorities seized documents, including a spreadsheet titled ‘Controle de veículos – Carreata – Ananindeua’. Following the operation, Santos reportedly arrived at a police station in an agitated state, using derogatory language toward investigating officers, prompting a formal repudiation from the Sindicato dos Delegados de Polícia do Pará.
