Carla Zambelli seeks financial aid from followers in Italy
Former Brazilian federal deputy Carla Zambelli has launched a fundraising campaign to support her stay in Italy. After an initial attempt to create a paid community with a monthly fee of R$ 50 was canceled by the platform, Zambelli announced she would move her fundraising to GoFundMe, an international platform that allows for anonymous donations.
Zambelli, who has been in Italy since May 2025, claims she is unable to open bank accounts or secure employment in Europe due to judicial decisions in Brazil. She specifically attributed these difficulties to Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), alleging that the blocking of her assets and her inclusion on Interpol’s red notice have prevented her from accessing financial services.
Zambelli faces two major criminal convictions in Brazil: a 10-year sentence for the hacking of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) systems and a sentence of over five years for illegal possession of a firearm and illegal coercion. While Italian courts previously denied an extradition request regarding the CNJ case, a new legal process regarding her second conviction is currently under review in Italy.
