Carlentini: 16-year-old student dies in fatal scooter accident

A 16-year-old student, identified as Vittorio Chelucci, died following a scooter accident in Carlentini, Sicily. The incident occurred in via Eschilo, near the Santuzzi area, as the teenager was returning home from school.

Preliminary reports suggest the young man lost control of his scooter for reasons still under investigation, resulting in a violent fall onto the roadway. Despite immediate attempts at resuscitation by passersby, including a doctor who was in the area and the use of a nearby defibrillator, the impact proved fatal.

Local authorities, including the Carabinieri, municipal police, and emergency medical services, attended the scene. Some witnesses reported a delay in the arrival of the ambulance, noting it arrived from Scordia approximately 45 minutes after the alarm was raised. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
