The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced that Carlo Rambaldi, the renowned Italian special effects creator behind E.T., will be honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 15.

Key speakers for the event will include Antonio Saccone, president of Cinecittà; Cristina Rambaldi, the artist's niece and vice president of the Carlo Rambaldi Foundation; and actor Matt Winston, son of special effects master Stan Winston. The ceremony will be available via livestream.

In conjunction with the star dedication, the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Carlo Rambaldi: Dreaming the Cosmos’ from October 14 to December 31. Curated by Cristina Rambaldi, the exhibition features his paintings, sculptures, and significant career materials, including his three Oscar statuettes and an animatronic E.T. head created to celebrate his centenary.
