Carlo Rambaldi centenary commemorations

Overview

Events honoring the legacy of Italian special effects creator Carlo Rambaldi have taken place in the United States to mark the centenary of his birth.

In mid-October, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Rambaldi, with a ceremony scheduled for October 15. Alongside this, the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles hosted an exhibition titled ‘Carlo Rambaldi: Dreaming the Cosmos,’ featuring his paintings, sculptures, and Oscar statuettes.

Following these events, the Sparks Gallery in San Diego hosted the exhibition ‘United in Art – 100 Stars – Rambaldi’s Orbit’ through November 6. This exhibition, which included the presentation of the Carlo Rambaldi Prize to Jo Champa, featured various media such as digital art, photography, and sculpture intended to reinterpret Rambaldi’s creative universe.
